In The Heat Of The Moment

Dave Mac

Meet Dave Mac—a passionate presenter on Vectis Radio with deep roots in the Isle of Wight’s hospitality scene. With years spent in iconic local venues like Chicago Rock Cafe, The Balcony, and The Hogshead, Dave is no stranger to the community.

One of his favourite events he has organised was having Pendulum perform a DJ set that would fill The Balcony with 700 people on a Thursday night.

An enthusiast at heart, Dave has held a lifelong love for cars, and his dedication even brought him to attend Top Gear filming a remarkable 15 times! While a career with the show didn’t materialize, his passion remains. Also with a huge love of Formula One since the Nigel Mansell years.

Dave is also a seasoned musician and bass guitarist, having been part of the very first year of Platform One in 1998. He continues to play today, covering for local bands when needed and playing in his church’s worship band. Music is central to Dave’s life—he’s attended nearly every Isle of Wight Festival since 2002 and is a regular at live concerts across many genres.

At home, Dave is a devoted family man, proud husband, father and grandfather. He shares his home with three beloved cats: Bazinga, Shazam, and Eureka.

  • Willowfly band chat with Kitty and Terry

Emerging from England’s south coast, Willowfly are a four-piece guitar-driven band weaving
melancholia into melody with an intensity that belies their short time on the scene. Formed in late 2024, their sound drifts between the brooding urgency of Fontaines D.C., the raw introspection of Wunderhorse, and the slow-burning haze of Horse Jumper of Love.Perfect for rainy windows and midnight drives, Willowfly channels a dreamlike sadness. Their music balances cinematic atmosphere with sharp emotional clarity.
In April 2025, Willowfly landed a spot as finalists in Wight Noize, a testament to the immediate impact of their presence and sound. They’ve since gone on to headline a major festival stage, delivering a performance that solidified their place as one of the most compelling new acts to watch. The long awaited release of their debut single “Cave” is here , and is being played on Vectis Radio 20 April 2026
They will also be playing on the Kashmir Café at this years IW Festival.
