Steve & Sam
Join Steve Cownley & Sam Cottrell for breakfast every Monday-Thursday. Notice they have the same initials!
Hi I’m Steve I’ve lived in East Cowes since 2020, no pets and I am a full licence holder for ham radio because, yes, I am that sad.
I’m also a lover of computer games on the PC and am an avid Eve Online player which I have played on and off since 2013. I tried the PlayStation but couldn’t get to grips with the controller, much to the ridicule of my kids. I’m a fan of trance and house music but have been getting into Drum and Bass lately although I am a secret Taylor Swift fan.,although not so secret now.
I’m currently learning to speak Greek which is a really hard language to learn but if it’s easy then there’s no challenge. That’s what I’m constantly telling my teacher. Despite my physique, I’m a regular gym goer but the path to a body like Schwarzenegger had in his peak is within my grasp…..if I had arms as long as Mr Tickle. My love of sweets, cake and puddings is more of a downfall than Niagara falls and aims to derail my gym efforts at every opportunity. They are evil, but enjoyable.
Hello! I’m Sam, and I’m delighted to be part of the Vectis Radio breakfast team. My official job is co-presenter. My unofficial job is keeping Stevie Steve in check.
I’ve always believed mornings are much better with good music, a proper laugh and at least one cup of coffee that’s gone cold because I’ve been talking too much.
When I’m not behind the microphone, I run my own stationery business which means I spend my days surrounded by colourful paper, fancy pens and enough stickers to fill a small village in West Wight. Apparently, turning paper into happiness is a real job and somehow I managed to make it one!
I’m naturally curious, so I love discovering unusual facts, hearing people’s stories and finding those wonderfully random conversations that somehow become everyone’s favourite part of the morning. If you’ve ever shouted an answer at the radio, laughed in the car on the way to work or found yourself singing far louder than you intended, then we’re already on the same wavelength.
Joining the breakfast show has been an exciting new adventure, and I can’t wait to share it with you. So whether you’re driving to work, walking the dog, doing the school run or still trying to remember where you left your keys, come and spend your mornings with us.
We’ll bring the music. You just bring the biscuits!
